VIGO is recruiting on behalf of an agile, fast-paced Special Projects division operating within data centre and pharmaceutical vertical markets. Recognised for exceptional delivery of major EU projects, they are seeking a talented BMS Commissioning Engineer to join their team. Note when in Europe your salary will be significantly uplifted!
Role Overview
As a BMS Commissioning Engineer, you will handle full BMS commissioning for projects across the UK, Europe, or the Nordics, spanning data centre and pharmaceutical environments. Your scope will range from creating schedules, modifying panel designs, developing software, crafting graphics, to executing Levels 1–5 of data centre QA/QC processes, from FAT testing through to IST testing.
Key Responsibilities
Manage overall commissioning of projects in line with the programme of works and intended design
Perform field point-to-point checks, terminations, and wiring modifications where necessary
Commission various DDC control systems (Trend, Tridium or others), update control panel drawings, and document operation in commissioning files
Save all ‘as commissioned’ information appropriately and return to the Project Manager
Produce daily reports on works carried out, highlighting any delays and their cause
Update servers regularly and keep witnessing packs up to date
Demonstrate and handover projects diligently to clients
Carry out site surveys as required and produce fully detailed reports with recommendations
Attend training courses and meetings as required
Enforce health & safety standards and adhere to ISO and company procedures
Share technical knowledge within the team and provide support where required
The Ideal Candidate
Experienced with at least one of the following systems: Trend, Tridium, Schneider, Siemens, ALC
Knowledge of Niagara-based systems and HVAC systems
Electrically competent with strong PC skills
Capable of interpreting and modifying existing control strategies in BMS systems
Excellent attention to detail with strong time management and organisational skills
Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Commercially aware with strong customer relationship skills and understanding of safe working practices
