We’re excited to be recruiting on behalf of a highly respected BMS business seeking a technical Project Manager to deliver complex BMS and controls projects across the UK. The portfolio includes technically demanding environments such as data centres, without the need for European travel.
Role Overview
This opportunity sits within a technically focused part of the business that operates differently from a traditional BMS projects division, prioritising interesting, complex projects and strong customer relationships rather than competing purely on price.
With a focus on data centres and other technically demanding environments, the business is open to skilled BMS Project Managers, including those without previous data centre experience.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of BMS and controls packages across complex UK projects.
Create and manage project programmes, run progress meetings and produce regular project reports.
Work closely with design teams on panel drawings, I/O schedules, system architecture and technical submissions.
Manage engineers, subcontractors and site teams while maintaining accurate resource forecasts.
Work directly with clients and mechanical, electrical and cooling contractors throughout delivery.
Identify changes in scope and variations and communicate these back to the wider commercial team.
Support engineers technically when required and help resolve problems on site.
Ensure H&S, CDM, quality and handover documentation are completed correctly.
The Ideal Candidate
They're looking for someone who can be the technical glue between the customer, engineering team, design function and wider project.
Strong technical BMS professionals ready for more complex projects are encouraged to apply.
Have a strong technical understanding of BMS, HVAC and associated mechanical and electrical systems.
Be comfortable discussing systems and solutions directly with engineers, customers and contractors.
Understand the full project lifecycle from design and engineering through commissioning and handover.
Be comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where decisions need to be made quickly.
Be willing to remain close to the technical delivery rather than simply managing the project commercially.
What's on Offer
£82,000–£85,000 basic salary depending on experience.
Company car / car allowance.
Home-based position with site visits.
Exposure to complex BMS and data centre environments.
Opportunity to develop further into the data centre market.
Established technical team with the backing of a major brand.
