VIGO is working on behalf of a growing engineering and technology organisation based near Portsmouth that is looking to bring in a Data & Reporting Assistant to support internal reporting, dashboards, and operational analysis. This opportunity is ideal for someone early in their career perhaps a college leaver, apprentice, or someone with strong analytical ability looking to develop skills within data and business operations. Role Overview
As a Data & Reporting Assistant, you will support the business by compiling, organising and presenting operational data in a clear and structured way. Working closely with the internal team, you’ll assist with reporting, dashboards and data analysis that help the organisation understand performance and support decision-making.
This role will be based in or near Portsmouth, where you will receive training and guidance from senior members of the team. It is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain practical experience in reporting, analytics and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Compile and maintain internal reports using Excel or similar spreadsheet tools
Assist in producing presentations and reporting materials using PowerPoint
Organise and structure operational data from multiple internal sources
Support the development of dashboards and reporting summaries
Assist teams with reporting requests and basic analysis
Communicate with colleagues and stakeholders to gather relevant information where required
The Ideal Candidate
Based in or near Portsmouth
Strong numerical and analytical ability
Comfortable using Excel or similar spreadsheet software
Confident working with PowerPoint or presentation tools
Experience reading, compiling or interpreting basic reports or data
Comfortable dealing with people and gathering information from colleagues or stakeholders
Organised, detail-oriented and eager to learn
Nice to Have
Experience with one or more of the following would be beneficial but not essential:
Python
SQL
Smartsheet
Power BI
Experience building or working with dashboards
