VIGO is recruiting on behalf of an innovative building automation specialist that's looking to strengthen its field engineering team with an experienced BAS Field Engineer.
Role Overview
If you enjoy solving complex technical challenges, commissioning sophisticated control systems and being the engineer others turn to for advice, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that genuinely values technical excellence.
You'll take ownership of commissioning, troubleshooting and supporting Building Automation Systems across a diverse portfolio of commercial and mission-critical projects.
This is a hands-on engineering position where you'll be trusted to make technical decisions, work directly with customers, and play an important role in mentoring less experienced engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Commission and optimise Building Automation Systems on new and existing projects.
Diagnose and resolve complex software, controls and network-related issues.
Carry out system testing, validation and final client demonstrations.
Support project teams throughout installation and commissioning phases.
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and field technicians.
Work closely with project managers and design engineers to ensure successful project delivery.
Produce accurate commissioning documentation and technical reports.
Deliver a high standard of customer service while building strong client relationships.
The Ideal Candidate
We're looking for an engineer who combines strong technical ability with excellent communication skills.
You'll ideally have:
Solid experience commissioning or servicing Building Automation or Building Management Systems.
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across HVAC control systems.
Experience working with BAS software, (Automated Logic) controllers, networking and systems integration.
The confidence to work independently while also supporting wider project teams.
Excellent organisation and time management skills.
A customer-focused mindset with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
A passion for learning new technologies and developing your technical expertise.
What’s on Offer
Competitive salary with overtime opportunities.
Flexible working and a healthy work-life balance.
Extensive manufacturer and technical training.
Professional certifications and ongoing development.
Clear progression into senior engineering, technical leadership or management positions.
Opportunity to mentor junior engineers and influence engineering best practices.
Comprehensive benefits package including healthcare and retirement plan.
Work on exciting commercial and smart building projects using the latest building automation technologies.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Automation Engineer looking to join a company that invests heavily in its people, encourages technical growth, and gives engineers the autonomy to make a real impact.
