
BAS Systems Engineer
We’re working with a leading Building Automation company to find a skilled BAS Systems Engineer to join their team. This role is all about delivering high-quality service and support for Building Automation Systems (BAS) across Washington DC, Maryland.
As a BAS Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for the full life cycle of BAS projects — from start-up and commissioning to troubleshooting and customer support. You’ll work closely with clients to ensure their systems are running smoothly and efficiently, while also identifying opportunities for upgrades and improvements.
Key Responsibilities
System Commissioning & Start-Up
Perform start-up, testing, and commissioning for new and retrofit BAS projects (small to medium size).
Verify point-to-point operation and diagnose system-level issues.
Program and test controllers and field devices.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance to keep systems running at peak performance.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues.
Troubleshoot complex control systems, including networking and integration issues.
Customer Support & Training
Act as the go-to point of contact for clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Provide on-site training to customers on BAS operation and system functionality.
Recommend system improvements, upgrades, and add-on services.
Documentation & Reporting
Complete and submit all necessary documentation, including commissioning reports and project updates.
Mark up control submittals to capture field changes for As-Built documentation.
Keep management updated on project status, challenges, and opportunities.
Technical Development
Stay up to date with industry trends and complete required certifications.
Assist the sales team with technical recommendations and proposals.
Key Requirements
Vocational school or associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or similar field (or equivalent experience).
1–3 years of experience with BAS or HVAC control systems.
Strong understanding of networking, system integration, and programming languages used in BAS.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Proficiency with computer programs and software applications related to the HVAC industry.
Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
