
VIGO Recruitment is working with a market leader in the Building Automation sector in New York to recruit an experienced Commissioning Technician. The Role
The Commissioning Technician will be responsible for overseeing the commissioning of building automation systems, working closely with the project team and acting as the main technical interface for customers. This role involves providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring successful installation, programming, and system validation.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Scheduling
Attend pre-booking meetings to understand the project scope and sales estimate.
Analyse plans, specifications, and contract details to determine system requirements.
Develop and maintain a project schedule, coordinating with the project team and subcontractors to meet installation deadlines.
System Installation & Commissioning
Manage the requisition of supplies and materials needed for project completion.
Track project progress and resource allocation to keep projects on schedule.
Troubleshoot technical issues, including software bugs and electrical or pneumatic installation problems.
Provide on-site programming, start-up, and commissioning of building automation systems.
Participate in final project walk-throughs, complete closeout documentation, and provide customer training.
Customer & Technical Support
Act as a technical resource for both customers and field staff.
Organise and maintain all job documentation to ensure easy access and compliance.
Deliver high-quality customer service and ensure client satisfaction with the system’s long-term performance.
Skills and Experience Required
Essential:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the installation and/or maintenance of building automation systems.
Comfortable working in a variety of environments around mechanical equipment
Must have the legal right to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Preferred:
7+ years of experience in the installation and/or maintenance of building automation systems.
Ability to read and interpret design and construction documents.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
