
VIGO Recruitment is working with a market leader in the Building Automation sector in New York to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager. The Role
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities using Siemens commercial building automation solutions. The role requires a strategic approach to expanding the company’s presence across key market segments within the assigned regional territory.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and capture new business opportunities within the commercial building automation sector.
Engage early with target customers to influence specifications and promote acceptance of the company's products and service solutions.
Collaborate with regional and local sales teams to drive mutual growth and maximise market penetration.
Develop and execute a strategic plan for securing new business and provide bi-monthly pipeline updates using the company’s CRM tool.
Represent the company at industry trade shows and learning sessions, delivering customer presentations and commercial proposals.
Support the development of technical requirements based on global and local market needs to enhance future product offerings.
Guide the sales team on implementing smart building solutions within the customer base.
Deliver compelling presentations and develop tailored solutions to address customer challenges.
Train and support the sales channels on the Smart Infrastructure portfolio, highlighting the company’s capabilities and value propositions.
Skills and Experience Required
Essential:
High School Diploma or state-recognised GED.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales, business development, project management, or commercial building automation within a regional territory.
Strong knowledge and experience in:
Commercial building automation systems and applications across multiple market segments.
Negotiation, conflict resolution, and accountability in a business development role.
Financial analysis and business evaluation using Microsoft Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Must have the legal right to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Proven track record in account management, sales process management, and consistently meeting sales targets in a complex environment.

Competitive Salary: $90K - $140K per year (depending on experience).
